A Taste of Ancestry
"A Taste of Ancestry" blossomed under the AMP mentorship program by Apostrophe Reps, which asked us, "What does belong mean to you?" To me, belonging is found in the roots of my family tree, which, since 2020, has revealed branches in Mexico, Spain, and Nigeria.
This project was a photographic journey into my genealogy. I selected recipes to represent the three countries that have shaped my lineage. With my family's hands as models, each dish presented a piece of my personal history.
This journey was made more special by the team at Apostrophe Reps in bringing my vision into reality, celebrating the confluence of my multicultural roots through a feast for the eyes. Proud and grateful, this project is a tribute to where I come from and the shared stories that food can tell.
